Hey, is there a real way to not have to download apps for each device and then link them to Google Home or other services? I want to be able to consolidate everything in one place without creating accounts everywhere

  6. Google Home Assistant has its limitation and flaws. But my smart wiring systtem supports it and with just the cheap Nest hub, I control the entire system by voice, i.e. shutters, lights, recuperation etc. I recently discovered that thanks to Matter GHA can finally work with sensors as automation triggers. So my motion sensors activate whatever I want. And that is a game changer, IMO.

Hi, Thank you for your videos, I really enjoy them.
I have a Smartthings hub and would like to replace it with the Home assistant green and a zigbee dongle. is the best way to do it is to start from scratch turning off my smartthings hub and connecting all my zigbee devices to HA ?

@ 7:48 : Anyone knows which lamp is he using? Looks great

    thank you

  10. I have to buy WAPs and a server rack?

  11. Ohhhh thank you for this video. You have saved me a lot of headache

  12. your voice and mouth are out of sync, slightly annoying

  13. I have 5 split minis in bedrooms, and two main AC units in living spaces. I want to have all on a schedule to run when my solar has the batteries full and I still have sun left in the day! Some of these rooms are empty, but I want to rotate the AC on to keep the air moving and the room dry and not musty in the tropical environment. I’m so confused with all the Verbiage of smart home things! Do I just need a "sensibo" for each split mini? and do you recommend I hook them into a HA? or do I really need a HA? I would love a diagram of a simple system.

I have some light in my garden that I want to turn on and off with a PIR sensor, but only between 5 and 12 pm for example. Do you think that can be done with Google because that is what I use, combined with the app Smart Life. The PIR is Zigbee and will be soon delivered to me

  17. @jonhawthorne1489 April 15, 2025 at 9:24 am

Do you have a video on a light strip that indicates when it is time to leave? It would fill up over time and be green when it’s time to leave?

This is a brilliant intro vid. I have just subscribed. I am about to self build my house, what power should I put into the walls for things like automatic blinds like the ones in your vid? Thanks.

  37. @justinlloyd-jones1658 April 15, 2025 at 9:47 am

Another top Video. Thank you. I moved away from smartthings to home assistant in the last few months and found that it was easy enough to do it slowly rather than with a big bang. I just move them over and over one at a time. The devices and the routines. This gave me the reassurance that something was going to work as I want it without committing all in one go. Something I thought of today and I didn’t see anywhere else but no doubt it has already been done. I created tags for all my battery operated smart sensors. The Tag was the model battery that it takes. Eg cr2450. This is such a handy thing to know when you see the battery getting low and you go to the cupboard. You know exactly which battery that particular device takes. I’m sure you are all going to say you’ve been doing that for years 😂

  38. Please what and what should I buy so I can use my Alexa to control my home, thank you

  39. @ceciliatabbi4218 April 15, 2025 at 9:48 am

Can I do Zigbee -> Wifi -> Central hub? I have an issue that my home has steel and concrete between floors so have to wire in wifi extenders to have wifi across the house. I’m looking at GH for primary control at the start (and basic stuff) and then moving to HA once I get more confident.

  40. @bjørnjacobsengaming April 15, 2025 at 9:48 am

"It’s hard and clumsy to remember what to say." Okay, it’s really hard and clumsy to remember to say "hey Google, turn on the light". 😱😂😂

  41. @JasonSmoker-qs6rx April 15, 2025 at 9:48 am

How would you compare Homeseer to Home Assistant? Currently running HS4, new project coming up so i am reevaluating for better options if any….

  42. @kristianfalk1598 April 15, 2025 at 9:49 am

    Are you from USA ??

  43. Looks like he voiced OVER himself? Looks so fake or just off….weird!

  44. nice

  45. @bjørnjacobsengaming April 15, 2025 at 9:53 am

2:19 Motion sensors are triggered by pets, and then you have the joy of your light or whatever you think is smart to connect to them, turning on and off constantly. What’s so smart about it?

  46. @นายจักรกฤชขุนฤทธิรงค์ April 15, 2025 at 9:57 am

    อยาลม!!

  47. what about tp-link and tapo

  48. @MarcusPorter-o3e April 15, 2025 at 10:00 am

    Excellent video

  49. Great video. Where can I find Light switch presence Sensor(not motion Sensor) or Presence Sensor with battery?

  50. The biggest fear I have about automation in the home, is if anything should happen to me, like long term injury or even worse like death, how does my family take over the home…I mean as a man we Must!! Think about our family needs and that also means what will they do if I’m no longer here, this is the only thing that stops me as I cannot design a system around that possible eventuality…. Any ideas
